Responsibilities demand sacrifice. Being a hero will always be painful because it will demand sacrifice time and time again.
"With great power comes great responsibilities"
One of the things that I noticed about things with an action-y theme was that there was always one thing that would be present in all of them. Be it a novel, a short story, a series, a movie, or a comic. That "thing", if can even say that it is a thing, is that all of the heroes in those examples had to sacrifice something in order to do the right choice. They had to do it for the greater good even if it hurt them so much. But I guess that is what really proved that they are true heroes. The fact that they were willing to sacrifice something they held dear in order to save many more is what makes them a hero. They are willing to sacrifice. An example of this was when Creusa was begging Aeneas not to go to battle and to think about what might happen to her and to Ascanius if he dies in battle. He had to choose to go to battle so that he could protect his family better. By going to battle he bought his family and the other Trojans more time to escape because the Greeks would be preoccupied with the Trojans that stood and fought. Another scene that is similar to this one was when Andromache pleaded with Hector to also not go to battle for the same reason. But, like Aeneas, he had to make a sacrifice. Love and sadness were both present in these scenes. They are very similar to each other since they both show love, sadness, and sacrifice. There are many more good examples of sacrifice. Spider-Man, Star Wars, and Superman's story are some of the greatest examples. Their stories started tragically but as their lives progressed, they went on to do great things. Heroic things since they are heroes.

From the ashes of defeat rises a new beginning
Responsibility demands sacrifice.
- Princess Bubblegum
Life has it's ups and downs. Everyone experiences sadness and happiness. But that is not a bad thing. It proves that we are human because we are able to have feelings and emotions. Some people may think that there is shame in crying. Especially if you're a male. But the truth is, there is no shame in crying. It is another way of proving that you are human and you have emotions and feelings. It also proves that we are strong enough to let people know how we really feel deep inside. Challenges, hardships, and problems are put into our lives to give it flavor and color. So that our lives will be exciting and colorful. Without those hardships and problems, our lives will be boring. One may say that it will be black and white. If we can overcome those rough times in our lives, then that proves that we are strong enough to be able to move on. Just like when Aeneas learnt of King Priam's death and also of his father's death. He was able to move on after their deaths and it made him strive harder for his goal so that they would not have died in vain. Also when Troy was desTROYed. That also made him strive harder for his ultimate goal which was to found a new city that was destined for greatness. Despite all of the hardships he faced during his journey, he was still able to found Rome.

Reveangeance
When I read the part when Aeneas was retelling the events that happened which led to and during the fall of his hometown, Troy, I felt great sympathy for the hero. I imagined his feelings when he was retelling those events. Those emotions were sadness and anger. Sadness because anyone who loses their hometown would be struck with grief since their hometown is probably where they grew up. It would also be very close to their hearts and minds. Also he would be sad because some of his closest friends and loved ones died during the fall of Troy, like King Priam. He was very, very, very sad when King Priam died because the King was like a second father to him and also a very good friend. I felt angry because I imagined that Aeneas would also be angry since he would probably want revenge and vengeance. He would also want to avenge the Trojans who lost their lives because of the Greek's deceit.
My feeling did not change when I receive the knowledge that Aeneas and the surviving Trojans would help found Rome because they all lost a place which they hold very dearly in their hearts and minds. But I became happy for them because they would help found one of the greatest Empires this world has ever seen.
